Good morning Coffee Timers!
Welcome to my Blog Tour celebrating the release of my second book entitled Soul Searcher which releases from Whispers Publishing this Friday, September 18th!
Today is the second stop on my blog tour that will run for 2 weeks! Be sure to check my website (www.kerrinelson.com) for the full Blog Tour schedule. You’ll have chances to win prizes every day along the way! Plus, while you win prizes…I’ll share details about myself and my books with you. Let’s get started.
I’ll be holding 3 separate contests today. Here’s the schedule for TODAY:
- We’ll start with the Morning Coffee and a Bit of Chase!
- Then, be sure to check back mid-day for the second post Have a Little Faith in Me and a Bite of Lunch!
- Lastly, we’ll have an evening post for the night owls Night Time is for Lovers & a Latte Love!
Hope you’ll join me for one or all of these posts. Each one will feature a contest and winners will be announced Friday on my blog (www.kerribookwriter.blogspot.com) so be sure to check there to see if you’ve won!
Contest #1: I’ll be giving away a journal & mini-photo frame to one luck participant. Just leave me a comment on this post and tell me all about your first meeting with someone new in your life. Do you have a first meeting story that can top Faith’s? Read the excerpt below to find out!
Enjoy your cup of coffee (or in my case a glass of Pepsi), while I share a short excerpt from my new book which features the first time the heroine Faith “runs into” the hero Chase Phillips!
Excerpt from Soul Searcher:
Faith ran faster and further than she could ever remember running. She closed her mind off to all the thoughts that were nibbling at her brain. She expertly maneuvered her way through the thick brush of the forest. She didn’t know where she was running”¦she just knew she had to keep moving.
She dodged branches that hung low. She hurdled rocks and fallen limbs with a grace she didn’t know she possessed. She felt motivated to get the hell out of this area.
Suddenly, she thought she saw the glint of the sun reflecting off something shiny in the distance. She thought it might be a window. She headed towards the reflection and hoped that whatever she was seeing held a person with a weapon. She wouldn’t feel safe until she was armed.
Just then, she heard something rustle in the nearby fallen leaves. She turned her head to look, but kept up her quick sprint. She didn’t see anything around her but her loss of focus caused her to miss a ditch that was covered by overgrown vegetation.
Her shoe caught in the thick weeds and she lost her balance. For the second time today, she was falling. This time thick, strong hands grasped her shoulders and caught her with ease. She looked up at the face of her rescuer and a ruggedly handsome face stared down at her.
His dark eyes bore into her and her ragged breath caught in her throat. He had the exact same eyes as the lion.

Nice ‘first glance.” I do not have a story that can top Faith’s, but hers sounds awesome. Love your play on words. Which reminds me of when I was in 10th grade in h.s. I had a huge crush on this ‘bad boy’ and every time I would pass him going up the stairs to class, I would miss the step when he looked at me and stumble. The song by Suzy Quatro, “Stumblin’ In” had come out then, and my best friend said it was my song.

Thank you ladies for coming out to hang with me. I’ve been lonely all day long. I’ve never done so much work on blogging in one day to have hardly anyone show up. Oh, well!
Looks like the 2 of you will make out like bandits with the prizes today!
I appreciate your comments and taking the time to read my excerpts and such.
Hope you’ll party with me all week as the tour continues!
I’m looking forward to sharing my new book with you soon!

15 years agoVery cool excerpt. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone like that, but it certainly makes the book sound really intriguing. First meeting – noticing his sweater in math lectures, then noticing him, then seeing him talking to a friend of mine…
