Talking with K. R. Wilson. Welcome, I like to thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to answer a few questions.
How long did it take you to get your first story Crimson Wings published?
It took me at least six months to find the right publisher. I almost gave up then I found Extasy Books. They took a chance on me and its been a good relationship thus far. I’m having a blast.
How did you feel the day your book was released?
I was thrilled but my mother was in the hospital at the time, so I didn’t celebrate the way I’d wanted. It would have been ideal to have my mom healthy and with me.
Do you have a strict writing schedule?
I did for CRIMSON WINGS. Now that I’m on the second book I have to write when I can. My son takes first priority. The bright side is that there are such things as pre schools and that’s where he’s headed.
Do you usually outline your stories before you write them?
Yes, I do. I have to or I will face a blank page. There’s nothing worse than having an idea and not knowing where to take it. Outlining, good. Blank page, bad. Writing with your sanity intact is most beneficial.
What are some of your hobbies?
I read comic books – Marvel comics and sometimes I’ll pick up a DC/Vertigo graphic novel. I love Marvel’s X-men and Vertigo’s Swamp Thing when it was a regular series. I even picked up Sandman once or twice. There are a lot of talented writers in the comic book biz. They aren’t just for teenagers and Wall-Streeters. The stories are imaginative and help me encourage my own imagination. I’ve fostered this hobby for over twenty years.
Have you ever had writers block?
Yes, Yes. It’s a scary thing to encounter, but it takes patience and knowing what caused the block in the first place to overcome it. That’s been my experience.
What was the very first story you wrote unpublished?
My first story is about a young woman who wants to rediscover her sexual side and asks the family friend, a vampire to help her out. It’s steamy and revealing. I hope to get it published one day soon.
Are you working on any writing projects right now?
Yes, I’m writing the sequel to CRIMSON WINGS. It’s a roller coaster ride and I’m having fun writing it. Although it’s taxing on my psyche. The hero is wild to say the least. After its written I’ll get back to you and let you know if I’ve gone bald from pulling my hair out over him.
How can your readers contact you?
Through my website http://www.krwilsonbooks.com. It’s viewer friendly and you have to be over eighteen to discover its many dark and seductive passages.
What is your web site add?
The world of vampires and werewolves. The world of KR Wilson. I just love it. My web mistresses thought of it.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Maggie Shayne, Rebecca York and Susan Sizemore. I recently discovered Robin Schone. She pens incredibly erotic and heart wrenching tales.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing for four years, and I see no sign of stopping. I have more stories to tell.
Do you have any thing to add?
Perseverance and taking time to relax and notice the good things around you will help you in the long run. Take stock, prioritize and work hard. You will get that payoff.
I appreciate the opportunity to interview you for Coffee Time Romance. It has been a real treat to chat with you. Do you have anything else that you would like to say to our readers?
Read Crimson Wings. I had a ball writing it and it’s a satisfying story in so many ways. I hope you’ll enjoy it.
