Good Morning Musings and Mutterings from Jeanette Grey

I don't know about you, but I am utterly and completely dependent on my coffee. I can't write without it. I can't edit without it.

And before I've had my first cup in the morning? Forget about it.

It's gotten so bad that last Christmas, my husband told my four year-old niece that I was a scary monster until I'd had my coffee and that she shouldn't ask to play until my mug was empty. Sure enough, all morning long, she kept tentatively creeping over to me, peeking at the liquid-level in my cup, and then scurrying off. Only once she could see ceramic at the bottom did she shove her Mickey Mouse doll at me and tell me we had to have a party for him.

She's a good kid.

I'm still part-way through my first cup right now, so I'll keep this brief. My name is Jeanette Grey, and I write romances – everything from steamy-hot contemporaries to more plot-driven futuristic ones. I've been writing forever, but I've only started finishing stories and sharing them with others in the past couple of years. Prior to that, I worked a long series of jobs, trying everything from advertising to computer tech support to teaching. While none of those worked out, they serve as good fodder for story-telling, so I can't bring myself to regret any of them.
