**About the Author:**
Mary Jo Putney, a lifelong book lover born in Upstate New York, turned her passion for reading into a celebrated writing career after discovering the magic of computers. With degrees in English Literature and Industrial Design from Syracuse University, she worked in design before settling in Baltimore and diving headfirst into writing. Her debut novel sold quickly, launching a prolific career that has included over forty books known for their emotional depth and exploration of complex themes like addiction and loss.

A New York Times bestselling author and winner of multiple awards—including the RITA, the NJRW Golden Leaf, and the prestigious Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award—Mary Jo has written across genres, from historical and contemporary romance to fantasy. She now splits her time between traditional publishing with Kensington and indie publishing many of her beloved backlist titles. She lives just outside Baltimore with her favorite people and pets—and happily avoids pantyhose whenever possible.
