Addison is a simple woman who spends her life going from home to work and then back home. Often life just passes her by, until her niece and nephew taunt her about getting a life. On impulse she decides to go with her sister and the kids to pick some pumpkins and gets more than she bargained for.
Caleb is a werelock, which one would think is bad enough, but also has a potential death wish on his head. Then he had to prove to Addison that she ended up with him because she rubbed the talisman she found under a pumpkin. She took it all in stride even when she was faced with a werewolf/warlock. He tries to keep her out of it because Volac is a bad dude, aka demon, who is determined to kill them both.
Addison always thought work was safer and avoiding the messiness of life was the way to go. Now she wants nothing more than to save Caleb, if for no other reason than to be with him forever. Can they beat the demon, or will they both lose their souls and each other forever?
Ms. Cassidy has a snarky form of writing that made me laugh out loud, and that was just the prologue. However, once the prologue was done I felt like there was a leap in the storyline that left me wondering what I had missed. I enjoyed the story despite the jumps in the time and storyline. The way the author voiced all the characters made for a wonderful read.
