Lady Sophie Harrington is the eldest of three daughters of an Earl. She prefers active outdoor pursuits and books to needlework, and is dreading her upcoming Season in London.

Lord Bryce Langdon is a barrister in addition to being a lord. He has recently moved to Cornwall and is planning on continuing his career there.

Bryce and Sophie’s unusual first meeting sparks an attraction that is undeniable. Sophie’s mother sees a way to encourage a match when she suggests that Sophie assist Bryce in organizing his library. Bryce has another task to accomplish before he can make Sophie his wife; his undercover mission to capture a notorious smuggler.

This is an excellent Regency. I really like that it is set in Cornwall, away from London. It makes a nice change and the addition of smugglers adds quite a bit of excitement. The characters fall into the typical Regency roles, but the author brings them to life, unlike many of the two dimensional characters found in this genre. I particularly enjoyed Sophie’s two younger sisters and look forward to their stories.
