Rae Everhart is a single mother whose life has been colored by one man, Ian MacTaggart. She learned at a young age that men are not to be trusted, and now she stays away to protect her daughter from feeling the loss of a man who walks away.

Ian MacTaggart has many regrets in his life. The biggest is walking away from the woman he loves. He feels as if he is a failure, just like his father, and determined to win Rae back no matter what it takes. His past keeps trying to creep back in, but he is determined to find a future with the only woman he has ever loved.

Rae is hesitant to trust and the secret she is keeping is the one thing she can never reveal, and she needs to push Ian away. Ian is ashamed of his past but is determined to win Rae, but his secrets may be more than she can get past.

The story of Ian and Rae is a beautiful one to read. I loved the Scottish in Ian and the strength of Rae, but the love of one little girl makes the story something to behold. Ms. Durand takes the reader on a trip along the way and shows the reader how amazing life could be with a little forgiveness. Notorious in a Kilt is amazing; after all, who could ever resist a man in a kilt?
