Her once stable life has taken a detour with a cat scratch and the hunky man she has grown so close to and when things take a turn for the unbelievable, there is only one thing she can do, and that is to hang onto Ian.
Ian has led a life he would not recommend to anyone. When he comes to this strange new world to save his light, he can do nothing other than stay close to her. When a demon from the dark comes for his light, it is up to Ian to keep her safe no matter what sacrifice had to be made.
Maria has no idea she is the light to a knight from the past. Ian will do anything to save his light from the demon who seeks to destroy it. Will Maria tell Ian about her past so he can help her heal before it is to late, because without trust Maria and Ian will lose it all to evil.
The characters are interesting, and I enjoyed reading their story. The beginning of the book is a bit slow but once it got going the story was worth reading. The author has a way of writing the villain which makes even the reader fear the dark. Ian and Maria have true horrors in their past and watching them begin to heal is beautiful. I feel this is a good beginning to a series with great promise – as what romantic would not want to read about knights finding their lights.
