Rachel McCall is the daughter of Sheriff and ranch owner Warren McCall, though right now she wishes otherwise, and wants to be as far away from the mess he created as possible.

Griff Morris is a Texas Ranger who grew up with Rachel on the McCall ranch. He has loved her longer than he can remember.

Devastated by the news that her father has been hiding a mistress and son for more than thirty years, Rachel seeks solace in the arms of Griff Morris, then runs away. She is soon found and a car bomb convinces her that she is in danger. Griff means safety and finding out that she is pregnant with his baby ensures his protection.

This book is a bit formulaic and the plot might have come from a soap opera, but I found it very entertaining. The plot is fast moving and the book is peopled with manly heroic men and dastardly villains. Rachel is a damsel in distress with a spine of steel. If you are looking for a fast, fun read this is the book for you.
