Starr Conner has just been convicted of murder, and has been thrown onto a ship headed for Dakon, a primitive, frozen planet that has no technology whatsoever. She figures she will just bide her time until her appeal goes through and she is found innocent, then she will be able to go back home, or so she thinks.
Torg is the chief of his tribe and excited about the possibility of having a mate, (women are scarce on his world) even if she is from another planet and an alien. But he is disappointed when instead of getting a tall, strong, dark haired woman, he ends up with a small, curvy, pale skinned blonde woman.
While Torg is briefly disappointed in how his new mate looks, it is not long before he decides he got the cream of the crop, and the feeling is mutual. Then rumors start circulating about the new females, and though Torg does not want to believe anything bad about his new mate who he is coming to love, there is a niggling doubt in the back of his mind. The rumor says that the woman were criminals. If this is true then they may have a problem because crime in almost any form is not tolerated, and criminals are often banished to the frozen wastelands where there is little chance of survival, particularly if the crime is murder. When push comes to shove, who will Torg believe, his new mate Starr or those who are stirring the pot with the hopes of causing trouble? And what will he do if he discovered Starr was convicted of murder?
This is a very entertaining mail-order bride Sci-fi style story! I loved Starr’s spunk and determination. And Torg is just yummy! Fortunately for Starr he is also fair. This futuristic world is well crafted and interesting; it kept this reader very engaged. I would love to read more about this planet and its people. If you love Sci-fi romance and like the idea of mail-order brides, then you will enjoy this hot Sci-fi romance!
