Book Brew Sizzle: A Taste of Peace by J.J. Sorel

BNR - Book Brew Sizzle

“This shitstorm must be awful for you. You get a job, and then next thing you know, you’re dealing with a car chase, a bitchy manager, the SEC, and a boss dying to visit a secluded island with his admin assistant.” A slow grin grew on his face.

Mm… when can we go?

He held my gaze. I was sure I looked like a creature trapped in headlights at night.

He tilted his head. “How about a dance?”

“I don’t know how to waltz.”

“I’ll take it nice and slow.” He stared into my eyes again as though he was talking about something more than just dancing.

I gulped as he took my hand and led me out onto the dance floor.

My hand trembled slightly as I placed it on his shoulder. I wanted to wipe my searing palm from where he’d held my hand, but he wrapped his large hand around it.

As his chest touched my shoulder, his scent drifted through my pores, and I couldn’t feel my feet. Either he’d lifted me when we moved, or I’d just left my body.

“Relax. I won’t eat you.” He smiled.

“I wouldn’t have thought I was your flavor,” I said, wanting to hit myself over the head after speaking the words. Was that the best I could do?

“I like many flavors,” he said in a deep drawl that reverberated through my rib cage.

I looked up and was met by a slow, sexy smile. Was he flirting with me?

“Many flavors suggests you’re into the whole spectrum of offerings. Not that there’s anything wrong with that,” I said.

“I’m not gay, Miranda.”

I had to laugh. “I wouldn’t judge you if you were.”

“I’m also not bi. I’m pretty vanilla.”

“Vanilla’s a classic flavor, I guess.”

“Is vanilla your flavor?” he asked.

“I’m a fan of Neapolitan. Why choose just one when you can have three flavors?” I looked up at him. “We are talking about ice cream?”

“What else?” He raised an eyebrow.

We glided along as though in a dream. His fingers laced in mine.

He held me close to his chest, and I breathed in his scent—a blend of the sea and pine cologne.

The chanteuse on stage sang “Close to You,” which was apt considering how our bodies melded together as one. We were suddenly alone, the guests now a blur of color like an expressionist painting.

“You’re very graceful,” he whispered in my ear, setting a spark that traveled to my nipples.
“That’s thanks to you. It’s almost effortless.”

His strong body pressed against mine, and I felt something big and hard throbbing against my leg, making my pulse race.

The song ended, and much to my disappointment, the band took a break.
Lachlan removed his hands, leaving behind a smoldering sensation all over my body.

His eyes held mine again, and once more, I forgot to breathe. “Thanks. I enjoyed that.”

“So did I,” I said with an embarrassingly thin voice.

He peered over my shoulders. “I’ll be back in a minute. Don’t go anywhere.”

As Lachlan strode away to speak to a male guest, I noticed the guests checking me out again. For someone who’d spent her life unnoticed, this newfound attention startled me.

Steamy Billionaire Romance

MIRANDA

I was in debt, living in a tiny apartment with my sister and five-year-old niece.

When I got my dream job working for the hottest billionaire in town, I thought my problems were over…

Nothing had prepared me for Lachlan Peace…

Draped in designer gowns, I became his fake date and pressed against his rippling torso as we danced, trying not to melt under his lingering smoldering gaze.

Flirtatious banter bubbled away like the champagne we sipped.

I was too curvy. Too plain. Too inexperienced….and he was too…everything.

I was wrong.

But his life was so complicated. It wasn’t just women, out to snag a sexy billionaire, hot on his heels but people with enough dirt to fill the Grand Canyon.

Toe-curling pleasure and sweet dirty whispers aside, I was in for the ride of my life. But would I get out in one piece, or enjoy a taste of peace again?

LACHLAN

Everyone was out to get me.

The SEC, the Mafia, my foul-mouthed stepmother, and sharp-clawed manager, with whom I shared a messy past.

I needed to remain focused… Love was the last thing on my mind…

But then… I didn’t count on Miranda Flowers.

Hired as my plain fake date, she was far from that.

I couldn’t keep my eyes off her.

With her mouthwatering curves and smart mouth, she got my pulse racing like no other woman I’d ever met.

More than that – I trusted her.

When I discovered she’d never been with a man, instead of running, I took control.

A night of steamy passion and she soon became another pawn in the complex game of my father’s creation.

Just one taste… and I burned for her.

But here was the deal: If I didn’t play by the dirty rules, I could lose everything… including my life.

If I did, I would lose Miranda.

A Taste of Peace is a steamy romance and Book One in the Malibu Series. If you love reformed bad boy billionaires, sizzling chemistry, and sexy nights that last until morning…you’ve found your next favorite series!
