As Ben Morgan shook her hand, Leonora’s knees wobbled and she felt light-headed. His hand trembled as it grasped hers. When she looked up, she was startled to glimpse a depth of feeling in his eyes.
“Yes, hi, you too,” she finally managed to sputter. Drop-dead gorgeous, that’s what he is. Completely unlike any of the men she knew. Lanky and solid, Ben wore jeans, a collared dress shirt open at the neck, and scuffed cowboy boots. Different pair, but the same brand he still wore today. He towered over her at six feet six, as did his handsome best friend, Spark. Even as a young man, Spark was often mistaken for the actor Fred Thompson.
Ben shook her hand. Later, he told her that his first sight of her had hit him like a lightning bolt and he knew right then that he was looking at the woman with whom he would spend his life. About a foot shorter than him, she was slender, with full, rounded breasts. She wore a short pencil skirt and matching green cashmere sweater. And oh those legs!
