St. Nicked by Damon SuedeSt. Nicked: There`s no gift like the present.
Holidays this fun can’t be legal. When a cat burglar dressed as Santa targets a glitzy Manhattan high-rise, the holidays get unhinged.
As superintendent, Mark Almeida needs to keep the residents safe, and as a former NYPD cop, he knows he can crack the case without any help… until he meets a suave stranger too handsome for his own good who pushes buttons Mark didn’t know he had.
As the holly-jolly crime spree unfolds, Mark wrestles with duty and desire while juggling festive clues, lavish gifts, and stolen kisses in time for a truly crooked Christmas.
St. Nicked, the newest contemporary romance from Damon Suede, combines the tension of a mystery with feel-good romance in a way only Damon can deliver.

Meet the Author
Damon Suede… between soft and rough
Damon Suede grew up out-n-proud deep in the anus of right-wing America, and escaped as soon as it was legal. He has lived all over: Houston, New York, London, Prague. Along the way, he’s earned his crust as a model, a messenger, a promoter, a programmer, a sculptor, a singer, a stripper, a bookkeeper, a bartender, a techie, a teacher, a director... but writing has ever been his bread and butter. He has been happily partnered for over a decade with the most loving, handsome, shrewd, hilarious, noble man to walk this planet.
Addictions: sweetness that isn’t sentimental, wit that isn’t bitter, strength that isn’t cruel. Allergies: professional victims, half-assery, clichés.
Beyond romance fiction, Damon has been writing for print, stage, and screen for over three decades, which is both more and less glamorous than you might imagine. He`s won some awards, but his blessings are more numerous: his amazing friends, his demented family, his beautiful husband, his loyal fans, and his silly, stern, seductive Muse who keeps whispering in his ear, year after year.

15 years ago(Which, by the way, is the final line of a work in progress, about a serial killer in Edwardian England who makes Jack the Ripper look like a nice kid.)
Which work is that – Rain Maker? It sounds really good.

15 years ago AUTHORSecond try to respond to you. I don’t see the first one so I suppose I did something wrong. What was that you were saying about my knowing what I’m doing?
Good memory! You’re thinking of Rain Dancer, my only contemporary. It’s about hate crimes, more of a detective/suspense story.
The one I mentioned is tentatively called “Whom God Destroys”. It’s about a psycho, bullied all his life because of his delicate, feminine appearance, who coldly calculates how to get even: murder. He uses his appearance as his greatest weapon–cross-dressing to lure his victims. He decides he will be the greatest murderer in history.
An adaptation of the character will be in a short story coming out next Spring from Lethe. I don’t think they have a final title for the anthology yet. I’m going to try submitting this again!
I’ve tried three times to post something about The Phoenix, with the new cover. And everytime I try, it won’t let me. Aaargh. Give me a stone tablet and a chisel!

15 years agoVery interesting – I saw your other post here, read it, and now it is gone and this is in its place. So you must be doing something right and maybe a little wrong. ; ) You must forgive the delays in my responses. I will be on here all day but I am at work and alas – I actually have work to do… : ( Which means, pretending I am busy when my boss is around. I will keep up the best I can.
Whom God Destroys sounds great (as does Rain Dancer) – I will look for the Sherlock/Doyle version in the spring and promptly snatch it up – as I have done will all your other work.
And of course I have the new version of The Phoenix. I pre-ordered it and had it delivered when it was released. It feels wrong to say that it was improved – because the original was damn near perfect – it was a joy to read again though. I love the new cover with the image of Kit and Nico…
PS – I don’t know how much you can do – but the site will not allow for posting comments on the Rick Reed Post you added. When you click on comments – it appears the link is broken. So I will post my response to that one here….
The interview was great. I have read some of Rick Reeds work and have enjoyed it. I loved your interview and it certainly brings out your sense of humor. The Captain Crunch comments shed a whole new light on you…. And I don’t think I stopped laughing for 5 minutes on the plug question.

15 years ago AUTHORI’ll let Rick know. Maybe there’s a time limit or something. Like I know? – lol
Thank you for getting the new edition of The Phoenix! The changes, other than fixing the Americanisms (such as using railroad instead of railway), were fairly minor, except to me. Mostly details, or sentence structure, that kind of thing.
Are you saying, btw, that you didn’t know Captain Crunch looks like Brad Pitt/Achilles under that disguise? And that he may be wearing a red silk thong? Am I the only one who knew?

15 years ago AUTHORBe sure to subscribe to the newsletter at http://www.ruthsims.com so you don’t miss the announcement of the anthology next spring. I wish I knew who else would be in it. I’m betting that Rick Reed will be, and maybe Victor Banis, but that’s just a wild guess. I honestly didn’t think they’d take my story since it has very little to do with Sherlock.

15 years agoI signed up for the newsletter and it was the blog post on this site about Rick’s interview that will not allow the comments. And Captain Crunch in a red silk thong – WOW that is a mental picture I never thought I would have! Never again will I be able to eat Captain Crunch the same way!
