September 2018: Favorite Heroine

CTR asked:
QUESTION: Of your published titles to date, which heroine is your favorite and why?
Ann Everett said:
Usually, I answer this question by saying whichever heroine I’m writing at the time is my favorite. However, I do have one from a past book that I think of often. I even wonder… what is she doing today? Then I’ll make up a whole scenario about her and her husband! You can guess what I’ll have them doing.
In her book, Chirp, she has several names. Wren Montgomery. Blaze Bledsoe. And, Chirp. She’s on the spectrum, and to say she’s a bit quirky is an understatement. I love that about her. She has no filters, so she says everything she thinks.
With coaching from her two friends, she works to become less socially awkward, but fails more than succeeds. When she meets Rance, her love interest, sparks fly. They have a lot to overcome, but the interaction between these unlikely lovers is what makes the story special.
I’m not sure I’ll ever write a character I love more than Chirp.
(Chirp was named a Kindle Scout Winner)
