QUESTION: Which path did you take: Trad, Indie, or Hybrid? And what led you to that choice?

I chose to publish The Widow’s Walk, which is Book Two in the Unfinished Business series with an Indie Publisher, Soulmate. There were many factors, a major one being that traditional publishing houses look for a formula in their books. Mine are traditionally very cross-genre, and Soulmate actively seeks those types of novels.
In addition, Breakwater Beach, which is Book One, was not ready for publication before Book Two. It needed heavy editing and Soulmate was willing to publish them out of order. By the time Storm Watch, which is Book Three, was ready, I wanted a consistency in editing as well as cover art (and Soulmate has awesome cover artists).
I’m still seeking a traditional publisher for my urban fantasy novel series, which fits genre norms much better. I am considering self publishing my novellas, both new ones and those out of print, but I’m a terrible editor and would need a lot of help to get a good product with a gorgeous cover to market. I’d rather be writing.

The Widow’s Walk
[ Paranormal Ghost Romance ]
Mike and Liz Keeny are newlyweds, new parents, and the proprietors of the Barrett Inn, an 1875 Victorian on Cape Cod, which just happens to be haunted. By their own ghosts. The Inn had become an annex of Purgatory, putting Mike, Liz, and their infant son in danger.
Selling the historic seaside bed and breakfast was the only answer, one that Liz and her own tortured specter refused to consider. Were they doomed to follow the same path that led to disaster in their previous lives?
Was getting out, getting away, enough?
