Grayson Ridge has struggled to survive since birth. She was raised in an orphanage and then adopted by a horribly abusive couple from whom she fled. She spends time on the run posing as a boy, which leads to her meeting with Drake. Life has not finished dealing the bad to Grayson, but it also has not yet taken away all the good, either. Drake Sumerset is traveling, trying to find peace, but cannot seem to find it. He happens to stumble upon Grayson who is pretending to be a boy and saves her from some nasty men. Against his better judgment, he brings her along in his travels. He hopes to leave Grayson with a friend to keep her out of trouble. The truth of who Grayson and Drake really are is tested thru many bad circumstances. They each have their own demons to conquer and secrets that no one must know of. Can these two lost souls stay connected and have their own happy ending, or will the fates keep all the secrets buried? Wow where to start, I loved The Inn at Little Bend. A story full of so many twists and turns you better pay attention, or you will miss out on something important! Excellent characters who work well together, each bringing something unique to the story. A touch of romance mixed in makes it all the better to read. This is the first book I have read by Bobbi Groover, but it will not be the last! Matilda
