Olivia Weston knows she can meddle where she does not belong. But after peeking into a diary, she has to find out if a certain grieving widower can be saved from his self-destruction.

Jason Traherne has had to learn the hard way more than once that women cannot be trusted. Taking care of his ailing son and his ever dwindling house staff keeps his thoughts from the death of his wife.

When Jason’s aunt makes the customary once a year trip out to see him, she brings along a visitor who instantly has him thinking lusty thoughts. Unaccustomed to such maddening depictions going through his head, Jason pushes her away time and again. But Olivia has learned that having six brothers and sisters gives her a constitution strong enough to withstand even the most wicked tongue-lashing. Can these two discover how much they are meant to be together, or will Jason’s past come back to haunt him in such a way that it could tear the lovers apart for good?

Ms. Lindsey is a wonderful author who uses brilliant and witty dialogue that will have you eating out of the palm of her hand. Tempting the Marquess has so many good qualities it would take pages to discuss them all. What I enjoyed most about this book was the overall growth both characters had as they learned new experiences, discovered secrets, and enriched each other’s lives with one funny adventure after another. Not to mention that I absolutely fell in love with Edward and I hope he will be in a future book. If you are a fan of independent women, passionate discussions, painful pasts, and funny moments then you will be enchanted with this tale.
