The only thing ex-skiing champion Tyler O’Neil has ever wanted to do was ski. When a near-death accident puts an early end to his career, Tyler reluctantly returns to Snow Crystal, his family’s ski resort. Ripped from the whirlwind of the competitive circuit, life in the real world seems flat and pointless. Tyler is lucky he has the raising of his thirteen-year-old daughter to distract him and also the steadfast loyalty of his life-long best friend, Brenna Daniels.

For Brenna, who is now head ski instructor at Snow Crystal, Tyler’s return to the family business is not so simple. She has been in love with her best friend almost all of her life, though she has never told him. It is just as well, since she has long ago learned to accept the fact he does not feel the same. His notorious womanizing, as constantly reported by the media, is evidence enough of that.

Life at Snow Crystal becomes complicated when an unanticipated flood of bookings puts Brenna out of her onsite staffer’s cabin and into Tyler’s spare bedroom. In such close confines, the feelings between them, which once simmered below the surface, suddenly ignite. But the flames of their passion can burn as easily as they brighten. Tyler will have to realize he has loved Brenna all along before it is too late, before she decides it is time to give up on him and move on with her life.

I read this book in two days flat. It had me giggling and sighing like a schoolgirl from start to finish. Maybe This Christmas has everything one could want in a sweet, contemporary romance: unrequited love, lifelong friendship, redemption and personal growth, a sassy team of gal pals and a wise-beyond-her-years teenage daughter. The chemistry between Brenna and Tyler was sizzling hot, but tender and caring at the same time. A great love story, and a warm-and-fuzzy Christmas read. I would without hesitation recommend this book to romance lovers everywhere.
