Melody Forbes is a freelance photographer with a lot on her plate. Her father has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, forcing her to give up her lucrative career in New York and come home to take care of him. Her brother Brock, a professional hockey player, has less time to help her. So, having a flaming one-night stand with Reese Torrin is not on the agenda. Or is it?

Reese Torrin is the bad boy drummer for heavy metal band Façade, and his reputation with women is legendary. He is a no strings attached kind of guy. However, he takes one look at Melody during one of Brock’s games and, figuratively speaking, takes a header.

When Melody’s father is involved in a terrible car accident and ends up in a coma, Reese offers his assistance in the form of a ride to the hospital. Thrown together during a crisis, the two quickly grow close. Reese begins behaving as something other than the jerk Melody has dubbed him. Just when it appears love will save the day and conquer all, an experience Melody had earlier in her life rears its ugly head and it is only through Reese’s strength of character that their love has a chance to survive.

Ms. Ramagos has crafted a well-written and exciting contemporary romance with Reese and Melody’s story. The emotional and sexual tensions are so tight you expect them to break several times during the book, which just made it that much more enjoyable to read. The characters are well developed and real, as well as being easy to relate to. In addition, the situations posed within the plot are probable and lend to the reality of this piece. I highly recommend this book.
