Maryann Capshaw thought she led a fairytale existence. Having married her high school
sweetheart despite his parents' objections, she felt that they were a couple beating the
odds. After getting pregnant right away, which had not been in their plans, the baby was
still a happy addition to their little family - or so she thought. So it was a great shock
when her attorney husband had announced one day that he had made partner and he
was moving out.
Ian Masterson is an agent for Interpol investigating jewel thieves in urban areas around
the world. When he is assigned to a family cruise ship in the guise of a musician to
catch the thieves that had eluded authorities, he never expected to find the love of his
life. Having fallen hard for a double agent long ago, he was hesitant to embark on
another romance, but circumstances and an engaging little boy quickly changed his
mind.
Maryann and Ian tentatively begin a friendship, being careful to keep it respectful. In no
time at all they find that there is more than a little attraction between them, but they both
are hesitant to reveal their feelings. Will his secrets keep them apart?
Ms. Martinez has written an exciting adventure full of intrigue and romance. The heroine
shows her inner-strength and determination by recovering from betrayal while the hero
shows his soft side along with his steely resolve to succeed. His caring ways will win any
reader over quite quickly. I was hooked from the first page. I thoroughly enjoyed this
book.
