QUESTION: Of your published titles to date, which heroine is your favorite and why?

Harley Wylde said:
Picking a favorite heroine is like picking a favorite child. But if I had to pick one that stood out more than the others, I think I would select Kalani from Tex (Dixie Reapers MC). She led a horrible life with constant abuse, but the things that happened to her didn’t break her down. A lot of people would have gone insane, or given up. Not Kalani. Instead of giving up, she stayed strong and she survived. When a young girl was placed with her, Kalani was willing to sacrifice herself to ensure that young girl didn’t come to any harm. She didn’t want others to suffer through the horrors she’d already lived.

Despite not having heard a kind word since her mother died when Kalani was young, she still had the capacity to love. While men frightened her, and she didn’t trust them, she still craved acceptance and someone to hold her. Tex offered her a new life with no strings attached. He didn’t care if they were ever intimate, but he wanted her safe and happy. His patience and kindness were exactly what Kalani needed, and as the story progressed she grew even stronger and learned to trust others.

My hope is that people will learn something from Kalani and Tex. I don’t want anyone to suffer abuse of any kind, even though I know it happens often, but the message I wanted to convey was that no matter what you’re facing, whether it’s physical or an inner battle, if you can find the strength inside yourself then you can overcome anything.
