Branding ~ How to define an author in one minute

I’ve recently taken a class on author branding and have been taking mini-steps to create a brand for”¦Nancy Corrigan, erotic paranormal author.

Why? Because I’m a visual person and branding makes sense to me. When I go to the store, I shop by color, shape and design. I’m one of those people who don’t take the time to read the labels. My mind sees what I normally buy so I reach for it. It’s not the best practice. I’ll be the first to admit that. I’ve come home with lots of things I don’t need or items I end up giving away because they’re the wrong flavor, etc. Still, I find myself falling back into the same habits. I’m simply too busy to spend the time browsing the aisles. And I know I’m not the only person in the world who feels that way. Maybe not to the extreme I take it, but many people see a logo or design and automatically “brand’ it.

So, in my opinion, branding “me’ is essential. What does it entail? Lots. But I’m tackling it a little at a time. My first major step was defining my writing in something even the busiest person has time for””a one minute video (give or take a few seconds).

My tagline””Sizzling fantasies”¦with bite“”clues my readers into what they’ll find when they open one of my books. Hot, sizzling erotic romance with a paranormal flare.

The gifted graphics artist who designed my video combined my tagline with words, phrase and pictures that define my writing.
