It’s a new Year What are you working on or have coming out this early on in 2016?
It’s a new year and I recently released, I Love You More, a sweet contemporary novella, perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time of the year. This romance is focused on international adoption, a subject close to my heart as my husband and I adopted a daughter from S. Korea several years ago.
Following will be another novella, Oh, Danny Boy, in March. Again, this will focus on international adoption and is a spin-off from I Love You More, bringing in several of the characters that were featured. I may continue with a possible series of international adoption romances.
International adoption what a great subject to tackle. Do you have a writing partner to bounce ideas off of?
I sometimes bounce ideas off of my author friend, a NYT bestselling author. I’ve known her for many, many years, and we still bounce ideas off each other. We’re brutally honest, which is a good thing!
Honesty is truly need no matter what. Do your characters live with you when writing? Have you ever had them take over for awhile when writing?
Once I begin a new book, the characters live with me day and night. They oftentimes have minds of their own and go in directions I’d never dreamed.
I bet that makes for interesting living during each book and set of characters. Do you like your books/stories when they are finished or are you overly critical of your own writing?
I’m extremely critical of my writing, especially in the final stages before publishing. Then, I let them go and am off to write the next book.
I haven’t met an author who isn’t very critical of their work. Lol. How about a few fun questions for the readers. If you could time travel to any era which one would you choose and why?
I would time travel back to Tudor England. I’ve done lots of research for one of my Gypsy (Romany) historical romances, (Fatal Fortune)–stay tuned! and King Henry VIIIl. The entire Tudor era is fascinating.
I think the Tudor era is one that people are interested in lately. If you were marooned on an island what 5 things would you bring with you?
Being marooned on an island wouldn’t be so bad because I’m an introvert. I’d need to bring my dh and children, my dog, my computer, any book by Judith McNaught, and cell phone. I’m assuming there’s an endless buffet hosted by a nearby cruise ship? LOL!
Awesome! I would have never thought of the endless buffet! Now tell us what can we expect from you in the near future?
You can expect more sweet contemporary romances set in exciting locales, possibly featuring international adoptees as heroines and heroes. And, my Romany (Gypsy characters will finally be able to tell their story. More inspirational romances are also in the future.
Sounds like you have a lot of enjoyment for readers coming. As we wrap up do you have any final thoughts or advice?
