Lori Johnson was raised by a single mom and is very reluctant to trust people, including her husband, Tony. She is a schoolteacher who loves her husband dearly, but some things are just harder than others when it comes to marriage.
Tony Johnson loves his wife with every fiber of his being, but it seems as if sex is just not working for her. Discovering a new side to his quiet wife helps their marriage become more fulfilling for them both.
It seems as if Tony cannot do anything right. In his own way, he is trying, but everything comes out wrong. He is scared of losing Lori. With a little help from her, their marriage will get back on track.
It is hard to not fall for Tony and Lori. They are the epitome of every couple: Muddling through day to day, trying to make things seem stable and happy. It is nice to see them willing to meet halfway and come to terms with some of the issues they are having. Ms. Gerbert really brings these two characters to life for the reader. I am looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.
