Melody is a brilliant but poor computer science student at MIT. She has a bright future ahead of her in the IT field. She is a bit socially awkward, but driven towards her career goals.
Jeremy is a rich kid without much in the way of ambition. He does not know what he wants to do with his life and has been kicked out of several colleges.
Melody and Jeremy have a one night stand in college and never expect to meet again. They are both pleasantly surprised to find that they work at the same company when they both finish school. Melody is still attracted to Jeremy, but he is involved with another and is the boss’s son to boot. They become friends instead, but that situation is not destined to last.
This is a funny and well written story. Melody and Jeremy are realistic and engaging characters who have a great deal of chemistry. The supporting characters are equally well drawn. The story was so hard to put down; I could not wait to see what situation Melody got herself into next. Ms. Nix is a very talented author, and I hope to read more of her work in the near future.
