Dominic Price is an Assistant US Attorney and also co-owns a brewery with one of his fellow soldiers. He is in the middle of a big case that just happens to be a joint mission with the FBI. When his star witness is kidnapped, the FBI brings in Cameron Byrne to help get her back. The hotter than hot Cameron rings all Dominic’s bells, too bad the timing is all wrong.
Cameron Byrne has a past he is not proud of, but he has put that all behind him, or so he thinks. When he is brought in to help get back a key witness on a joint case between the FBI and the US Attorney’s office, he gets to see Nic again. A man for whom he has the serious hots.
Nic and Cam know they have the hots for each other, but both have secrets in their past that they would rather not have the other know. However, before they can do anything about it, they have to save Nic’s witness from her psycho girlfriend and her band of thugs. When the whole operation goes to hell, Cam is forced to go deep undercover to get her back. In fact, it forces him to rely on his past B & E skills, something he is not proud of, but is afraid he may fall back into the old temptations, if he is not careful. Meanwhile, Nic’s dad who he has been estranged from for years is in trouble and the people he owes money to are gunning for Nic. Can their deep connection to each other keep them both safe and give them a chance at a real relationship and real love?
Whew! I read this book cover to cover in two days. If I had not had to work I would have finished it in one day. If you love fly by the seat of your pants romantic suspense then you will love Imperial Stout! I could not put this book down, (at least not unless I was forced to, darned day job!) and stayed up long into one evening reading it. The love scenes are explosive and emotional (my favorite kind!), and the story line kept me on the edge of my seat until I read the very last page and discovered….that I have to wait until October to find out the final half of their story! Wah!! Still this story ends with a HFN and is a fantastic read that I highly recommend and yes, I will be buying the sequel in October!
