Fiona Burns is a witch and a medium who has a successful web show. Despite her fame on the internet, in real life she is very unworldly. She has never strayed far from home or had a serious relationship like her sister or cousins.
Brady Powers is a well-known producer of reality television. Despite wanting to produce a show centered on Fiona, he is a total nonbeliever and believes that she is a fake.
The Connelly witches are cursed by someone called the Woman in White. Once a generation, she takes one of the family witches in retaliation for a wrong committed generations ago. The family is doing their best to end the curse and the last thing they need is a TV producer wanting to make Fiona a reality star. The danger to Fiona and her cousins is very real and they do not need the handsome man from California to distract them.
Haunting Magic is a gripping and suspenseful novel with vivid characters and an exciting plot. I loved the interaction between the various family members; each one has a very strong and unique personality. This novel is obviously part of a series, yet it stands on its own very well. I do want to read the previous story, but the author gives the reader enough background to keep them up to speed. Fiona and Brady have great chemistry but very different upbringings and outlooks on life. I really enjoyed reading of their growing relationship amidst the chaos stirred up by the Woman in White and her demon.
