Eliot Tate is a customer service representative for the Civilian and Environmental Protection Agency. Suddenly he begins getting complaints about people’s gas gremlins, but he cannot for the life of him figure out why these things are happening.

Alek Saroyan is an agent with the Mythkin Energy Research Facility and a not very pleasant person.

A year in the past, supernatural creatures literally took over all of man’s technology. While this did indeed help the environment, there is a bigger thing going on that Eliot is about to find himself embroiled in. When he tells his boss about the gas gremlin complaints, his boss calls the Mythkin Energy Research Facility and they send Alek to help. Unfortunately, Alek is not the most pleasant man, and when Eliot’s boss assigns him to help Alek with the investigation, it is not long before Alek is rubbing Eliot the wrong way and visa versa. Though the two despise each other in the beginning, as they continue to work together, they become closer and closer. Also unfortunately, it does not take long before the two discover that there is something much much bigger going on than either of them could have imagined. When bodies begin piling up, the two know they have to stick together and solve the mystery before the worst happens. Will Alek and Eliot solve the mystery of the malfunctioning gas gremlins, will their growing love for each other survive the fallout, or will something bigger than either of them can imagine wipe out humanity for good?

Whew, this story is Susan Laine at her very best!! I absolutely LOVED this book!! Ms. Laine’s stories have always been some of my favorites, and this particular book did not disappoint! This book is creative, imaginative world building at its very best. Throw in the budding antagonism/romance relationship between Alek and Eliot, and just watching that particular pot simmer was enough to keep me on the edge of my seat until the very last word on the very last page. If you love urban fantasy, if you love gay erotic romance, and if you love romantic suspense then you are going to love Gremlins are Malfunctioning by Susan Laine! I highly recommend you go out and get your copy today!
