Reading, to me, has always been a way of life. It’s sort of a family-wide addiction, so I guess I inherited the gene! Growing up basically an only child in a small town, it was definitely a way for me to reach beyond the city limits and fall into a completely other world. I remember loving everything from S.E. Hinton to Lois Duncan, Madeline L’Engle to Lloyd Alexander. Of course, an early historical fave was Laura Ingalls Wilder while Judy Blume addressed my childhood concerns and hardships with humor.
Now as a wife and mother (a supposed ‘grown-up’!), my tastes have changed a bit but my love of word play has not lessened with time. I am a lover of stories, preferably well-told ones, be they fantastical or factual. I like many genres including bio-fiction, romance, historicals, and even a well-written cookbook now and then. I collect children’s books and beloved fiction authors, not to mention the over 100 cookbooks in my closet. A few of my oft-read titles include the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon; Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett; any books by Jude Deveraux, Julie Garwood, Julia Quinn, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and a host of others who skillfully draw me into their worlds.
As a reviewer for Coffee Time Romance I am happy to share my love of stories with thoughtful and fair opinions. I relish finding new authors to admire and titles to recommend. I look forward to bringing the love of a GOOD book to everyone who reads my reviews.
