Mother Shipton lived in the 1500’s but she is still looking after her descendants. The old lady is funny, irreverent, insightful, and fiercely devoted to the Shipton family.
Lillian Shipton is the current caretaker of the Shipton women. She lost the love of her life early in life, but regrouped to succeed in not one but two careers.
Two of Mother Shipton’s descendants are planning their weddings. The whole family is excited and looking forward to the events. Big sister Lillian is coordinating Katherine’s wedding in Florida, when her fiancé is kidnapped. Irene’s wedding to her dream cowboy is also on the rocks. It is up to Mother Shipton and Lillian to save the day both times.
There is a lot to like in this book. Mother Shipton is a hoot. The suspense and paranormal elements are well done. On the downside, there is just too much going on for the plot to flow smoothly. With a little more detail, there are three books here. The three plotlines are connected by family, but they really do not move smoothly from one to the next. I would really love to read three more fully fleshed out stories as the author has great characters and a great start here.
