There is a huge secret he is keeping from her; despite the powerful desire they share, he is afraid of what her reaction might be. Everything points to the same thing, a human trafficking ring, but he vowed to find Hope’s daughter regardless of what needs to be done. Finding her safe, or even alive, is a different story.
The day Hope met Miriam was the first of a chain of events that will rock Hope’s dull life. While checking a homeless shelter for her daughter, she finds that it is run by an old friend of hers, Will, who has grown-up to be a handsome man and who still has strong feelings toward her. Everything so far has been directed behind the scenes by a figure whose only goal is to gain control over Rylas. Will things finally lead her to her daughter? How can she choose between the safe, handsome Will and the darkly seductive Rylas? And what exactly is the big secret that Rylas is hiding?
One of the best things about this story was the well-developed characters, from the main ones to supporting ones. There were several colorful characters and each added their own bit to the story which in itself had many parts and plot twists, but even though it might seem scattered at first they are actually all connected in one way or another. This story had a bit of everything with some mystery, suspense, romance, some serious sexy times, and some downright heartwarming scenes. This is the second book of a series, but you do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one
