Nina’s In the House

Good Morning! Let me introduce myself, I’m romance author, Nina Pierce. My official bio says something about being a reader, but the truth is, I’m addicted to books and more specifically romance books. And I didn’t come at the genre through the usual Judy Blume books. (I didn’t find her until I was an adult.) Nope, my first introduction into true romance was The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. When I read about the forbidden love between a priest and a young Australian woman that spans a lifetime … I was forever hooked on romance.

In 2005 when my multiple sclerosis made it impossible for me to continue teaching science, I turned to my second love … writing. I sat down at my keyboard the day after school closed and penned my first romance that summer. (It is entertaining the dust bunnies under my couch, never to see the light of day … but it was FUN writing that first story.) When I hit “the end”, I was hooked! And the rest, as they say, is history. I now have a dozen books available. All of them are pretty steamy, spanning genres from contemporary to futuristic, shapeshifters to DEA agents. I’ll be sharing many of them with you today.

*** COMMENT CONTEST ***
I’ll be giving away a box of goodies to one lucky commenter. Including a print book of RIPE AND READY, a set of romance trading cards and a $15 Amazon gift card (and a few other goodies I have hanging around). (NOTE: Prize will be shipped to US or Canadian residents only. An international winner will receive a $30 Amazon gift card in lieu of all other prizes.)
(Contest closes at 8 am EST Jan 31, 2012. I’ll notify the winner by email.)

I’d love to know who’s visiting. Why don’t you tell me a little about yourself, especially which genres you enjoy reading.

    Welcome Nina,
You are an inspiration.  We enjoy similar novels. The Thorn Birds was memorable and all the classics is what held my interest. Rebecca, Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser and Thomas  Hardy books. Romance and contemporary are always appealing. Best wishes and much happiness.

Hi Nina, I remember reading The Thorn Birds just last year and the story stayed with me for a long time. My introduction into romance was also a historical story and since then I've gone on to enjoy all sub-genres of romance including paranormal and suspense.

Na – There is something about the "Thorn Birds" that just stays with you years after you've finished reading it. One of these days I do need to sit down and reread it.
