Greetings to everyone! And first, may I say ‘thank you’ to Coffee Time Romance for having me on their blog. I had so much fun being here and was very glad for the opportunity.
Secondly, I’d like to extend my appreciation to all of those who came to Coffee Thoughts to visit me. It was so touching to read your responses, praises, and support. Interacting with so many great people is one of the wonderful perks of being an author that I enjoy so much, and I’m glad to meet each and every one of you.
And now, what you’ve all been waiting for…
I put everyone’s name in a hat and had my daughter draw the name, else I have guilt issues about possibly being biased – even when I’m not. So the winner of the autographed copy of Ræliksen goes to…
Giada Mariani
Congratulations and I truly hope you enjoy reading my first historical romance.

Good Morning!
My name is Morgan Kearns and I just released my debut novel, “Fade to Black”. It’s a contemporary romance…
..
.a tempestuous and witty love story, complete with dangerous twists and turns that keep the reader guessing until the very last page. Kate Callahan is a news reporter in Salt Lake City whose life seems to be perfect. Her attentive boyfriend, Jesse Vasquez, is determined to prove his love for her. But the day she steps through the doors of KHB as their newest reporter and meets photographer, Rich Spencer, everything changes. There is something about the way he caresses her with his eyes, speaks to her without saying a word, and lights her skin aflame with a simple touch that makes her rethink everything she’s ever known. Ultimately, she is faced with an impossible decision-one that tears her heart in two-which becomes excruciating when fate steps in and decides for her. Walking along a mountain of heartache and regret, Kate stuggles to find a world where love does conquer all.
I’m a stay at home mother of four (thankfully, they’re all at school for a few hours today) who lives in Northern Arizona.
I have a few things I’d like to blog about, but we can talk about anything you’d like…

Red dragon Emily Carrington found her mate in black dragon Vahid Delrey, but misunderstandings, painful secrets, and distrust keep them apart. Emily thinks Vahid doesn’t want her. Vahid thinks Emily is a stuck up snob who could never truly love him. Both dragons hide crippling secrets from their pasts as their pain at being apart escalates. Emily falls for the strong, sexy black dragon and hides her need of him behind an icy facade. Vahid longs for Emily to need him but can’t bring himself to mate with such a cold woman. When Emily’s secret pain fetish threatens her life, Vahid must decide whether to save her or let her self-destructive ways rid him of the mate he never thought he’d love.
Warning this book contains one asshole hero, one cold as ice heroine, mating in shifted form in a haystack, a suicide attempt, spanking, anal play, BDSM and it’s all needed to create a very happy ending.
This series is the best and provides a whole lot of different kinds of love. Ride the Lightning is the latest but you shouldn’t miss the story of Holden and and Garrett.
Black dragon Holden Antaeus isn’t looking for a mate. His life is filled with family, work, and dating. Women adore him and he’s never short of offers for sex, but a relationship isn’t something he’s interested in. When Holden’s brother Sean hires a new executive for Antaeus International, Holden’s whole world, and everything he’s ever believed about himself, is blown to bits. Garret Renquist is a green dragon, intelligent, witty, bi-sexual, and hot for Holden. Despite the fact that Holden is positive he’s heterosexual, the moment he meets Garret, something happens inside him. What follows is a journey through stereotypes and ingrained beliefs as Holden struggles with the fact that his destined mate is a man.

Master of the paranormal
CHRISTINE FEEHAN
Dark Prince is one of the very few paranormal romances I ever read and now I am hooked for life. I particularly like this first one in the Dark Series because the cast of characters is introduced and the reader can witness the depth of Mikhail and Ravens love. Their first encounter is hauntingly beautiful. It has made such an impact on me that I have read the story numerous times throughout the years and can still pick it up at anytime and be as excited as the first time.
Book Description:
He came to her in the night, a predator — strength and power chiseled his features. The seduction was deep and elemental; he affected her soul. His need. His darkness. His terrible haunting loneliness. Her senses aroused, she craved the dangerous force of his body. Burned for him. And he had only touched her with his mind.
She came to him at dawn, his bleakest hour. As the beast raged inside him, threatening to consume him, he vented his centuries-old despair in an anguished cry that filled the waning night. And she answered, a ray of light, piercing his darkness. A beautiful angel. Her compassion, courage, and innocence awakened in him an exquisite longing and tenderness. He knew he must possess her, for only she could tame his savage side and lift the dark shadow from his soul. Apart they were desolate, bereft. Intertwined physically and spiritually, they could heal one another and experience an eternity of nights filled with love.
You can read chapter one here and I challenge you not to be hooked:

Jennifer Turner is a fabulous author who is a true master of
providing an entertaining tale, which enthralls the reader.
Logan is a unique personality with a very nonchalant attitude in the face of the undead and provided a unique spin. Kerestyn is the complete opposite of the traditional vampire persona and makes you cheer for him. The dialogue between the characters was hilarious and made me laugh out loud several times. The story is a rollicking good time; it runs the readers through an emotional gauntlet. Jennifer Turner has an incredible ability to ensnare the audience and keep them interested to see what will happen next. This is the first story I have ever read about a drug addict who is worthy enough to become a heroine.
About the book:
After living on the streets of New York City for over a decade, Logan Ellis admits her perceptions might be a little skewed. But twisted or not, there’s a satisfying irony in watching a well dressed vampire stand in the middle of a ghetto alley, windblown trash scraping small circles near his feet. What she finds even more intriguing, is waiting for him to decide whether or not he’s going to kill her.
Kerestyan Nelek hasn’t quite made up his mind. As the Lord of New York, he can’t allow a homeless drug addict, whose memories are packed with knowledge of vampiric existence, to run free in his city. It’s not the first time he’s been in this situation with a human, it’s just the first time in thousands of years he’s come face to face with one who doesn’t seem to care. And that’s what makes the decision so damn difficult.
What horrors would you have to witness before you went numb? How many years would it take for you to feel that way? What would it take to make you care again?
Logan’s answers are simple: the worst humanity has to offer, almost thirty…and something she never expected.

Stormy Glenn is such a talented writer. No matter what she writes I am compelled to buy it. I have no need to even read the excerpt on her books.
One of my favorite books by her is Mr. Wonderful.
For straight-laced club owner Darius Alexander, Julian is perfection; his wild ways, his bold colors, his gorgeous good looks, all add up to the man of his dreams. He wants him immediately and is determined to have him any way he can.
This book has it all; raw emotions that will draw the reader in and keep them enthralled until the end. There is definitely some happy ever after for everyone from the characters to the reader.
If you have never experienced Stormy Glenn you can visit her site here:
http://www.stormyglenn.com/books.htm
If you like series books she has a wide variety to choose from.
Who doesn’t love a great romance where the hero and heroine live happily ever after? What would it be like if Cinderella had run off with the footman instead of Prince Charming? Would Sleeping Beauty have been able to wake up after 100 years and found the love of her life? Snow White and Grumpy? I don’t think so!
We are celebrating this month, Heart month as February is known, for those of us who love to love. I’ve been lucky enough to find the love of my life – despite how I bitch about him at times. *grin*. How many of you are that lucky?
Enjoy your day and remember not to settle for good – settle for the best. You only get one chance at life.

Cindi, your post got me to thinking – which can be a scary thing, indeed!! But you mentioned how the Laura Ingles Wilder series was what got you started in writing.
We are looking to give away some books, so in order to do so, you have to work for it/them!! We here at Coffee Time want to know if you had a series when you were younger that got you interested in reading. Perhaps a particular series got you interested in a specific genre.
For example when I was little I loved anything that had to do with horses. Black Beauty and the Black Stallion were my favorites! I used to imagine I was the one riding the horses – and to this day I love the movies.
The series I loved the most was Encyclopedia Brown. I loved that you could try to figure out the ending and pick what page the answer was on. So neat. Of course when I got older and discovered romance – I was hooked on that. But I want to hear about a SERIES of books – and if you didn’t get into reading until you were older, we won’t hold that against you.
Start commenting people – there are books to be given away!!!! HAVE FUN!!!
Here are the releases for the week. If you know of anymore leave them as a comment so we can all see.

Okay everyone – wipe the cobwebs from your eyes after the holidays………pull up a chair and get ready to chat!
Today we’re going to be talking about non-fiction……yes, we’re making it real! Cookbooks, self help books, craft books……..whatever your pleasure – we’ve got it all.
However, to make sure we’re doing our job here at Coffee Time, we need your opinions! Please be sure to leave comments after my post telling us what your favorite nonfiction book is. What is it you look for – and does it depend on the time of year? For me, this time of year I’m always after the diet books……self help getting over the depression of Christmas being over……and then in the spring and summer I’m usually digging up the gardening books……..pun intended! Perhaps other times of year I’m looking into real crime stories, but there’s enough of that stuff on TV that I’m much happier reading about the diets I’ll never go on and looking at houses I’ll never own.
hmmm…….perhaps that is why I get depressed…….
Happy New Year!!!

That time is almost upon us and it’s my last rant … I mean blog… for 2009. I know, wipe your tears because you’re not getting rid of me that easily. I will be back next year!!
We’ve been very busy here at Coffee Time trying to book authors for special day blogs, and thinking of new ways of entertaining you all. I offered to do a strip tease, but after the ladies stopped laughing, we decided perhaps that’s not what you were looking for. I then offered up my husband but again they thought perhaps someone younger and … less rotund would be better. Good thing he didn’t hear that……..
I hope to see you all in the New Year, as we will be constantly working on ways to keep you coming back for more. More discussions, more books, more reviews, and more ME! The best of all. I can’t wait for these comments!
This time of year I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t reflect on all the things that Christmas means to me. I love that I get to see my children (even though I’m sure they come for the food and presents!) and my husband and I will take time to go look at the lights, listen to Christmas music, and perhaps even *gasp* snuggle by the fire. Perish the thought!
Seriously, though, we should turn to the person next to us more often and tell them what we think of them…….. on second thought, perhaps that’s not such a good idea, depending on who you’re next to. *grin*. I know in my church we often have the ‘greeting’ time in the morning where we take time to say the things we’re always too busy to say when we’re rushing in – like “good morning’ ‘how are the kids’ “is that your REAL hair?” things like that.
Next time you’re in the mall and grumbing about the line ups, the price of everything, and how stressful this time of year is – think of those who don’t have food to eat, money to shop with, or a family to be mad at. Those are the people who deserve our blessings.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all and have a very Happy happy New Year!!!!!

Pushing the Envelope
Hi there! My name is Dena Celeste, and I’m an author of erotic romance. The genre that I tend to write in is BDSM, though even when it’s not explicitly BDSM my tales tend to have an Alpha male and a strong, yet submissive female somewhere in there. In my life and in my writing, I like to push the envelope on exploration.
In some ways that’s hard for me, and in some ways it comes naturally. I’m the curious sort, so exploring sensations, from feather ticklers to harsh canes, is natural for me. Seeing where pain and pleasure meld, where pain is erotic and where pleasure is painful, is also an interest of mine. It’s fascinating how we can use our bodies to communicate, to create, to go beyond thresholds we never thought we could.
I explore the sensations themselves in my books, but also the ‘whys’ that tend to come up. Some people feel like they’re freaks if they want a little bondage, or some spanking in the bedroom. Or even more than that sometimes! I want to show that there are differences in types of pain, types of pleasure, and how they can be played with to mutual satisfaction. Because my stories definitely explore a variety of kinks. There’s so much out there to try, and I want to see most of it, if I can.
The hard part for me comes with reining myself in. How far is too far for the people I’m writing for? It took me a long while to find a publisher that would accept the F/F/M ménage in Her Master’s Gift. Sexuality is also a fluid sort of thing, and exploring it is fun for me! But for some reason, women together just isn’t preferred. Thankfully, Noble Romance did accept my story and let me take it to the level I wanted to, the level that it deserved!
So, that begs the question, dear readers: how far is too far? That’s up to you of course! But I hope that my books can nudge the curious into action, and maybe even bring a sense of understanding to those on both sides of the line. Because I don’t just write about sex. I write about experiences.
So for the moment, there are limits on what I can write about and get published with a reasonably well-known, royalty paying publisher. Forms of play that have many facets. Watersports. Some people think “Eww!” but there’s something very primal about marking. Primal play, gang bangs, blood play that doesn’t have to involve vampires, hunting, sacred harlots, etc. And then there are other dynamics besides Master/slave or Dom/sub. There’s Owner/pet, Daddy/girl (which, despite popular belief, has nothing to do with Father/daughter), Rider/pony, Owner/toy and many others that some find hard to understand.
I don’t practice all of those dynamics of course, but I like to try to understand them. Too far, in my opinion, would be going beyond the realms of Safe, Sane and Consensual. Anything that would harm someone. I say harm, and not hurt or injure, because sometimes that’s the name of the game. Branding is an injury. So are bruises. And they can hurt. But consenting to those brings them into a different realm. Harming someone would be not respecting their free will in either giving consent or withholding it.
I do tend to dial my writing back a bit because I don’t just write hardcore BDSM, I write about romance and relationships. It’s not just about the play, it’s about what makes the play possible, enjoyable, and fulfilling. I don’t want to alienate the reader with something he or she isn’t ready for. Still, like I said before, I like to explore the boundaries, and push the limits. So I write what’s in my head, and keep my story ideas in a file for those times when I get a spark of inspiration on how to make it relatable to someone.
It sounds very clinical when I put it like that, but when I write it’s a very…visceral experience. I put myself in the character’s headspace. So I go into a place where I may not have been before. And I do the research by either asking my lover to help me experience those things, or talking to those who have experience in a certain dynamic or with certain toys that I don’t have the chance to experience yet.
I write either what I know, or what I want to know. Writing is my path to understanding, and I want to share it and help others learn what I have.

What’s Your Guilty Pleasure?
What guilty pleasures turn people to read various erotic romance or erotica books? Is it an alpha male? Bondage? Sex magic? Werewolves? Vampires, werewolves–or just being bitten? What about menage or even “bi-curious” works?
When I look around for a good, hot read often what catches my eye are the books that write about the buttons that I enjoy being pressed. I greatly enjoy paranormal erotica including magic and I’ll have to admit that a particular Mercedes Lackey book gave me my telepathy during sex fetish. Reading fantasy and paranormal erotica may never be the same again! Then there’s BDSM, particularly if well written. And when all’s said and done, who doesn’t like a hot vampire?
Then there’s the exploration into different sexualities and modes of expression. F/f is one of my favorite pairings and not always easy to find. And who at one point hasn’t been curious about what it would be like to be in a hot threesome—or even an orgy—with either two hot men, or a hot man and an attractive woman? How about sex with aliens in a sci-fi novel?
Part of why erotic romance sells is that safe escape to enjoy things we may not necessarily have the courage to experience in real life—and in some instances, would not necessarily want to! We can try on new directions like one would try on clothing and test drive it for a while. Erotic romance allows us to indulge in our passions and have fun with our guilty pleasures, and that’s what makes both reading and writing erotic romance so enjoyable for me.
One of the things I touch upon in the BDSM/fantasy/paranormal Oath series is the idea of trying new directions, exploring one’s sexual desires and impulses, and the idea of letting go within a safe, controlled environment. Nothing is sexier than giving your fantasies full rein, but the ability to trust in that space is an additional comfort.
