I think of all the ones that have really took hold of my heart and never left, is Dark Stranger. This is one book I could read over and over again and never grow tired of it. Here is a short blurb. . .’Kristin McCahy was a fighter, struggling to keep the remnants of her family and ranch together as the Civil War raged around them. On the day when all hope seemed lost, a stranger rode to her rescue, his guns spitting fire and his eyes ablaze with a passion only she could quench. His name was Cole Slater, and with him by her side, Kristin no longer had to fight her battles alone. Long after the gunfire faded into silence, Cole would be with her, as together they healed the wounds of their war-torn land and raised their children to greet the bright new dawn.’ I get chills still thinking about the book. Yes, it is that good, like a huge chocolate bar only richer, sooo good.

While we are talking about Ms Graham, let us mention Ride A Stranger, oh, yes. The war was over . . . Shannon McCahy and Malachi Slater, embittered by the conflict, still fought a raging battle of wills all their own. A Yankee whose only solace was the land she had struggled to save, Shannon hated the hot-tempered Malachi, a Rebel on the run who stood for all she had come to despise. Yet, as jayhawkers, and bushwhackers descended upon the lawless Missouri border, the two joined forces in a desperate search for their endangered loved ones. They clashed relentlessly, but as time ran out they were forced to realize there was something between them far stronger than hatred . . . ‘ Okay, yes, still goosebumps…over this story, as well. You can borrow these two books, but you have to bring them back, absolutely bring them back, or suffer the consequences.

I have to admit the emotions are threefold in A Piece of My Heart. When Mick and Kate ache to be with each other, I could practically see it in their eyes and hear it in their voice. The way they try to hold their control intact is so beautifully penned. I love the part about the circle, and the place they shared. Kemberlee Shortland creates a stunning read that touches upon the heartstrings. The storytelling is at its best. The descriptions are marvelously crafted and the characters absolutely lifelike. With emotions turning faster than a roller coaster, she allows the reader to visualize parts of Ireland with romance and a bit of suspense along the way.

I laughed at some of the characters that Maddie deals with while trying to do some investigating of her own. The Sheriff’s Surrender is a remarkable story. I believe the love that binds Gert and Ethan together is truly extraordinary. I like the bit of shyness Ethan projects, especially when he is around Gert. He reminds me of the timid cowboy like Tom Selleck sometimes plays in his movies when he is around the female gender. Truly magnificent; I liked that part about Ethan. To me it made him appear human in every respect. Susan Page Davis has woven a terrific story touching the heart of this reader. Immediately she pulls the reader into a town with many acquaintances blending together an impressive read.
