Realm of the Wolf Book 1
New Concepts Publishing
Rating: 4 Cups
Arriving in Wyoming to start her new job, Laura Ellison never expected to fall in love and she definitely never intended to let Justin Gray Eagle break her heart into a thousand little pieces.
Justin Gray Eagle is the leader of the Wolf People. His duty is to protect his people, marry appropriately, and produce an heir. Justin knows he must marry Tasha, the beautiful mayor’s daughter; so why can he not get Laura out of his mind?
Laura arrives in Wyoming in a battered old truck. Soon after her arrival the truck breaks down, leaving her stranded. Fortunately, Justin arrives and offers her a ride…and more. Laura and Justin find themselves caught up in a tangled web of events; and a prophecy, foretold long ago, unfurls amid bloodshed, love, and betrayal.
The beginning of a new series, this book is packed with adventure, Indian lore, shape shifters, passion, and vengeance. The characters are richly detailed and, for the most part, seem to be caught up in events beyond their control. The beauty of the wild forests and golden, hidden cities are breath-taking; the descriptions are succinct yet every word seems to have been deliberately chosen to capture the essence of the place perfectly. This novel is technically and conceptually well-constructed with a complex plot that leaves me eager for the next installment.
