Widowed by an accident that killed her husband truck driver, Loretta Brennan has taken a driving job to Wyoming during a bad winter storm. She has to make this load in order to not lose her truck and the home she shares with her daughter.
Sam Emerson is a handsome, mysterious stranger who helped Loretta deal with a man who just would not take no for an answer. Sam is a hitchhiker who seems to be running away from his life.
Loretta hires Sam to help her get to her destination on time. But there are questions about Sam that make Loretta unsure of her feelings or instincts to trust him when a series of murders of truckers takes place eerily near where they are traveling. With many questions and suspicions around you, whom do you trust with your life?
Winter’s Journey is full of twists and turns from beginning to end. It is an entertaining read. The storyline is, in my opinion, what makes the story good to read; however, personally, I did not like Loretta’s waffling back and forth over Sam, I felt that for such a strong woman, it was against her character. But overall I would say, make your own judgment and check this book out.
