Willow Creek Series Book 1
Western, Historical Romance, Native American
Rating: 5 Cups
Lilly Brooks has longed to find romance. After her uncle dies, and leaves her some land, she is exuberant to learn she is leaving Connecticut and headed to Kansas.
Paul McGregor has a huge responsibility of caring for the ranch after his parent’s death. After learning the sassy new girl owns some of his land, he will do anything to acquire that section of land.
When Lilly envisioned finding romance, and thrills once she left Connecticut, she never imagined all the exhilarating, unsuspecting, obstacles that would land in her path. Not long after arriving in Caldwell, Kansas, she is called a soiled-dove by Paul, who is only trying to help her. In no time they are beginning to spend time with each other. Paul needs the land that she owns, yet another person insists on bidding higher. Lilly is torn as her heart begins caring for Paul. No matter how many times he humiliates her, she doubts within her heart if she will ever stop loving that handsome cowboy. It is only a matter of time to see if Paul and Lilly will find what they are really after.
Wild Lilly is one tempestuous ride, with invigorating characters, delivering great dialogue and stunning revelations. There are some touching moments, as well as situations where Paul could definitely use a readjustment in matters. I think paired with Lilly, she can set him on the right course. The secondary characters enhance the story and practically stand on their own. Ann Mayburn instills a compelling read that grips the reader until the last page. She adds train robbing, dance hall girls and just about everything that the Wild West has to offer, to design an extraordinary read. She creates a story that heats up with vivacious passion.
