Rating: 4 Cups
Wade Sawyer has spent the past year in seclusion. What brings him out of it is trouble is that he witnesses a massacre at the Indian tribe where Glowing Sun is. He now needs to keep her safe, as she is one of the few survivors, and when he hears of his father’s accident he needs to go back home.
Glowing Sun was born in a white man’s world and taken in by the Indians when her parents died. Her white name was changed, and she adapted to their culture. But when her tribe is massacred, she is almost taken hostage. Wade comes to her rescue.
With faith in God, both Glowing Sun, aka Abby, and Wade try to adjust to a new world where they are uncertain about their own feelings for each other. There is a hostile, angry, abusive father and men who are insistent on stealing cattle and Wade’s father’s ranch.
This is an exciting and fun read. Great characters who show their flaws, yet try to make themselves better. Ms. Connealy has written a book that captures the old west, romance, and faith, and entices you to sample the other books in this series.
