Diane Kowalski is leaving her home for a much smaller apartment with her two kids in tow. She is not sure what will happen now that she has left her no-good husband after he royally messed up their finances and their family life.

Annette Gold is a divorce attorney who sees life through a hard-edged shell. When she found her husband keeping some very important secrets from her, Annette quickly got a divorce and tried to put the past behind her.

Meet the women of Club Divorce; women who are happily divorced or trying to be. Bonnie Fornari is just trying to survive after her husband left her with her two young children and no way to support them. Lana used to be Lacy Lerner, a famous actress who caught her cheating husband showing his bedroom techniques to his leading lady. These four unique women will go on a journey of self-discovery and find that sometimes friendship is all you need when it comes to being happy in life after marriage.

Wife Goes On is a great book with funny moments as well as some poignant parts, some of which had me smiling to think these women have the same problem as everyone else. The only downfall of the book is there are times, especially during some of Annette’s chapters, that I could not quite understand what was going on. Other than that, I found myself intrigued with Ms. Lehr’s writing. The really nice thing about this novel is you do not have to be divorced or even married to like these characters. I was either laughing, nodding my head in agreement, or feeling pride for how these four women grew throughout this book.

Caution: This tale contains some scenes involving swearing, including the “f” word.
