WHEN HARRIET CAME HOME
Rating: 4 Cups
Harriet Brown left her hometown ten years ago. While she has been gone, she has built a successful catering business and is no longer an overweight shy teenager. She is now a successful and confident young woman. She has returned home because her father is in the hospital after an accident.
Adam Blackstone has also moved back to his hometown after being away for a few years. His life crumbled when his father’s infidelity and debts were brought to light by Harriet of all people. He has thrown himself into trying to reclaim part of his family’s legacy and prove himself part of the community.
Adam and Harriet seem to dance around the obvious connection they have. But feelings from the past are on the forefront and both are living different lives in different cities. Circumstances keep them together and after calling a truce, are working on past issues. Can life offer them a chance at love or will past hurt feelings get in the way?
When Harriet Came Home has all the makings of a great read. How often do you get a second chance to be with your high school crush? Harriet and Adam are so right for each other but seem skittish with good reason to be. This story moves fluidly and keeps you guessing what is in store for this couple next. I could not help but root for them. This reviewer says you will thoroughly enjoy this romance by Coleen Kwan.
