Lucky O’Toole is used to dealing with pandemonium. As the head of Customer Relations for Babylon, the hippest casino and resort on the Las Vegas Strip, she thinks she has seen it all.
Paxton Dane is the newest addition to the security team at the Babylon. While he takes his job seriously, he also has ulterior motives for being at this particular casino.
Teddie is Lucky’s best friend and is always there when she needs him most. As female impersonator, the Great Teddie Divine, many automatically think he is interested in men, which is the furthest from the truth.
When a woman Lucky knows falls to her death, it is Lucky’s job to hide it from the press before they get wind of it and destroy the Babylon’s good name. Between Dane’s mysterious meetings and hidden agendas, Lucky’s sudden attraction to Teddie, which could ruin their friendship, secrets that are coming out about her father, and all those who were involved in the fateful fall of the victim, Lucky is not quite sure how she is going to juggle all of the issues at home and work. As the casino fills up and the temperature rises, Lucky will have to figure out what happened before it destroys the Babylon and all of its employees.
Wanna Get Lucky? is a laugh-a-minute, roll-with-the-punches, knock-down-drag-out-fight between Lucky and anyone that stands in her way. I absolutely adore Lucky as she goes up against people from her past, meets new and interesting characters, and still finds time to take care of her libido problem. The personalities pop forth from the pages as the many eclectic groups and zany characters explode onto the scenes. Ms. Coonts has won the whole pot with this royal flush of a novel that will leave you craving more of this smart-mouthed, tell-it-like-it-is woman who takes no prisoners and has a sharp edged tongue as well as a sharp edged elbow. Like any great poker player with a fantastic hand, I would most definitely double down with this book as it is a sure winner!
