VOW OF SILENCE
Rating: 3 Cups
George, a.k.a Dr. Psycho, is living a life of transition. Shedding the skin of Dr. George Kirkpatrick, licensed physician, and donning the persona of BDSM master, Dr. Psycho.
Lin and Gigi are women from his past and present. George is sure Lin is the woman he wants, but Gigi, the girl from his past now a woman suffering, threatens his plans.
George, Gigi and Lin are discovering there are things about themselves that might be better off left alone. Unfortunately, the tension is building. No one will escape the explosion of past and present, and everyone will be forced to examine that which they really desire.
Vow of Silence is written to address discovery of self. All three main characters deny who they are and what they want, and as a result, live a half life. I found each character had traits that made them sympathetic despite the reader’s desire to scream about their choices. The reader is forced to examine themselves under the bright lights of a doctor’s examination room and become more truthful with them. Keeping the characters straight is made easier with the header of subject character, but often I still found myself swimming in the storyline. Despite the character confusion, I enjoyed the story and portrayal of the BDSM world and members of the community.
