Tammie Palmer is the lead singer of the band, Witch Storm. She has inherited Rose Hall Plantation in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She is related to Annie Palmer, the White Witch, who created a path of fear and destruction during her reign almost 200 years ago.
Talin is a slave who worked for Annie Palmer. He was granted a second life by the gods and is now seeking revenge for his wife, Daisy, the last victim at Annie Palmer’s hands. His anger and bitterness has him striking out at the person least likely to harm him.
In 1825, on the night of Daisy and Talin’s secret wedding, Talin was called to the main house at Rose Hall to sleep with the White Witch. The power inside Annie Palmer recognized someone doing a spell to protect Talin. Annie sought out Daisy and killed her. Talin turned into a wolf and killed Annie. He then fled into the woods of Montego Bay. In 2008, a teenager who wants to impress his girlfriend has called upon the ghost of Annie Palmer just as Annie’s heir returns to Rose Hall.
I loved the magick in the story. There is so much power to be found beneath the light of the moon and the characters get more than they bargain for. The premise of this book is awesome, yet it gets all jumbled and confused together. It is a bit distracting as it jumps back and forth without much of an explanation. I understand what Ms. Paige intended for this tale, yet it missed the mark.
