VITAL SIGNS VOL. 2: SEX IN A SOUTHERN CITY
Erotic Romance/ Erotica-Contemporary
Rating: 4 Cups
As a used-to-be respected nurse anesthetist at Statesville, North Carolina’s Covington Community Hospital, Shirley Daniels was fired after a huge scandal rocked the community. Now she is on her way to Raleigh, North Carolina, after a phone interview landed her a job at UNC-Raleigh University Hospital.
Dr. Randall Hamm notices the new nurse right away. Used to the sensual promise in women’s eyes as he walked by, he usually just ignores them. But for some reason when it comes to Shirley, his body reacts at the worst possible times.
It is bad enough that Shirley made the catastrophe of all decisions when it came to her previous relationship. Bob Watson was her previous lover and the man who brought her name down in the sludge when the transgression against him came to light. Now she is trying to start a new life in a new city but then the unimaginable happens. Shirley’s bad luck continues to strike when Randall, who just happens to be her new lover, is arrested for murder and fingers are pointing at her as well!
Ms. Layne may have started slowly but it was not long before this intriguing and highly sexual story grabbed me. Sex in a Southern City is the second volume in the Vital Signs series but can be read as a standalone. While there are returning characters within this book, the background information given will keep you abreast of what happened in the last novel. The biggest turn on for me about this story is how Randall struggled with his looks. A realistic tale with lovely scenarios as well as tragic mistakes, this spicy hot book will have you panting for more.
Caution: This tale contains scenes of f/f as well as a f/m/f scene.
