Madeleine was born into the world of winemaking, the daughter of one of France’s best champagne makers. She left the vineyard to pursue a career, but always knew she would come back.
Christina is an American and a supermodel. Her marriage to a famous actor is over, and she is determined to make something of his vineyard. She wants to be known for something more than just her looks.
Kelly is an English chambermaid in a hotel. She was raised by her self-centered mother, a former housekeeper, and has no idea of the identity of her father. She finds out his name when he dies and leaves her a vineyard.
Three women from wildly different backgrounds, by either inheritance or as a settlement, each inherit their own vineyard. Each is determined to make a success of her new venture, but the world of winemaking is full of intrigue, scandal, deception, and even danger.
This book is a bit of a throwback to the glitzy and glamorous blockbusters of the past. The plot is full of intrigue and sex and the characters are well developed and always interesting, if not always likeable. It starts out a little slow, necessary to introduce the characters and their situation, but picks up soon after, with enough plot twists and bits of excitement to keep any reader happy. You will just have to read on to find out what happens to the three vintners and their companions. The three wine critics are equally intriguing.
