Harry Wong owns a dojo in Washington, or he did until someone stole his identity and left him with over a hundred thousand in credit card debt. That is not including all the money stolen from his 401K, his savings, and loans taken out in his name.
Jack Emery is there for support and will do whatever it takes to make sure Harry gets back all he has lost. Contacting the Sisterhood, he frantically explains all that has happened to the business owner and asks them for help.
As the women begin to dig into the crime, they soon discover that Harry is not the first person victimized by the identity theft ring. In fact, it looks like over a period of five years, many have been wronged by the same group of people. When they realize who some of the victims are, the Sisterhood vow to bring the thieves down. With attorney Lizzie Fox and Editor-in-Chief Maggie Spritzer leading the case, the criminals will be dealt justice in true vigilante style.
Vanishing Act is the fifteenth book in the Sisterhood series and is full of twists and turns. This action-packed novel has so much going on and so many different layers, Ms. Michaels will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout this wild and intense ride with the Sisterhood. The characters have a unique relationship throughout the book, almost like a well-oiled machine. However, since I have not read all of the novels in this series, the dynamics of some of the characters were a little confusing at times. This was not enough of a deterrent, though, to keep me from enjoying the suspenseful book. With factual information within the story about identity theft, this entertaining novel also scared the pants off of me when I think of how easy it seems to be to steal someone's identity.
