Molly Gillis is studying at Oxford for one year. Moving into a beautiful apartment building with a flat-mate seems to work great for them both.
Kale McKinnon is not happy when he finds out two college age girls are going to be staying in one of the rooms. He tries to figure out a way to break their lease but cannot come up with a good reason.
When Molly meets Kale, she assumes he is a struggling writer until she finds out the truth. Though he may be a bestselling author and quite wealthy, it does not change her view of him. She still finds him to be unique and brilliant and sexy enough to keep her intrigued. Can this “plain Jane” get Kale “Scrooge” McKinnon to see her as something more than just a college girl out for a good time?
What I liked most about Unwrapping Scrooge is how Kale’s view of Molly changed. He first sees her as some Plain Jain but later begins to question how he could ever see her as anything but sexy. This made Ms. Holly’s work seem more in depth and truthful as it gave Kale and Molly dimension and heart. I also like how opposite these two characters are as it gives an extra zing to this already good book.
