Delaney Smith returns from vacation, only to find his mate has been hired for the company. Said mate is a man, straight, and has a girlfriend. All in all, not a bad thing since he met his mate.
Mark is in a less than satisfying relationship, but thinks at least he got a good job out of the deal. All was perfect until he meets one of the owners, who propositions him, and gives him the best kiss of his life. But he is straight, right? Well, at least he was when he came into work this morning.
What a difference a day makes. Mark and Delaney are both surprised by the pull between them. Unable to deny fate, the men fall for each other, but the only loose end is Mark telling his girlfriend it is over. Unfortunately, all is not what it seems, and there are more surprises in store for the mated pair.
Trickster is a pretty neat shifter story with enough twists to keep the reader interested. Mark and Delaney are two guys who roll with the punches, which is refreshing in shifter stories that normally consist of a human freaking out and running from a hot shifter. I enjoyed the world of Trickster and the writing of Nicola Cameron.
