Natalie is a waitress. She has been alone for a long time since she found out that her lover, the local Sheriff was married. She loves animals and will do anything, even date the local vet, to help the injured wolf she found outside her home.
Adrian is a werewolf who was captured when he was fifteen. He and his two sisters have been held captive by an evil vampire for many years. He is abused, starved and tortured and dreams of escaping and saving his two sisters.
Natalie gets more than she bargained for when she rescues an injured wolf outside her home. Adrian is stuck in his wolf form due to a silver bullet, but he knows that Natalie is special. He only hopes that he will be able to protect her when the evil vampire Cedric comes to recapture him.
This is a very intense and involving story. My emotions were caught very early in the story. I felt so sorry for Adrian and all that he suffered. I had less sympathy for his two sisters and his family. The sisters were also confined but had a far better time of it and were the cause of much of Adrian's abuse. The family seemed to give up on the three missing children way too easily and the difference between Adrian and his brother Adam's lives is alarming. Natalie and Adrian are very sympathetic characters who show strength and bravery despite their circumstances and the opinions of those who should support them. Their love story is very moving with some very sensual love scenes. Cedric the vampire is evil and disturbed. The other characters are very well drawn and fulfill their parts in the story well. The plot is engrossing, fast paced and packed with action.
