THUNDER DESTROYS ME
Bucks Country Publishing
Rating: 3 Cups
Charles lives in a world that begins and ends in his head. He fights an army of thoughts just to live, and sometimes his internal battle spills out into his life.
The people in Charles life must compete with the ones in his head. The women that come into his life become the current obsession of a man they have little hope of making happy.
Charles thinks that each woman who comes into his life is the one he has been waiting for. Relegating the others to the past and blaming them for his mental issues.
I found the story rather difficult to follow in the beginning. At times I was unsure if Charles was in his head or in the real world. The subject matter is important and poignantly addressed, but insanity can be hard to follow. Despite my initial confusion, I became invested in the story and the characters, and I loved the ending. Strangely even with the issues Charles dealt with, I was able to see his allure and understand why people are drawn to him. Give Thunder Destroys Me a read and see if you agree.
